Just as there are a number of ways to lighten or brighten teeth, there are also several different ways for teeth to become discolored. The main causes of darkened teeth are genetics, antibiotics, and certain foods, plus teeth tend to darken as we age. Internal tooth discoloration is caused by changes in the enamel of the tooth and the dentin, disorders, tooth decay, restorations or root canal issues. External tooth discoloration is caused by factors outside the body, mainly foods and tobacco. The main causes of external tooth yellowing are smoking, foods with tannins, coffee, tea, carrots, oranges, and other foods. With a professional bleaching we can remove these deep-set discolorations and put a white smile on your face.
We fabricate individual mouth trays so you can even bleach your teeth by yourself at home. Our whitening method is dental-friendly. The tooth structure can be maintained.
The bleaching method and whitening process
The modern bleaching method lightens the teeth in a gentle and sustainable way. The first step is a professional tooth cleaning to remove stains and discoloration from the surface. Then we will put a gingiva protector on your gums to make sure your gum is protected during the whole the bleaching process. Afterwards we will apply the whitening product to your teeth, using a specially made tray which fits into your mouth like a mouthguard. A special bleaching light increases the bleaching effect.
This procedure can be repeated several times until the required color is reached. Please contact us if you have any further questions or would like to have more information.
